We are utilizing Teamcenter for our Product Lifecycle Management needs. It is also allowing us to restructure our parts management, BOI, BOM, and BOP to stand up SAP. We are also exploring the functionality of digital documents when creating digital specifications for raw materials. It has an ease of use as well as a robust access management characteristics.

Teamcenter is a robust solution for our material science firm's product lifecycle management. Its extensive features streamline workflows, enhance collaboration, and ensure data integrity. However, optimizing its interface for easier navigation and implementing more intuitive tools tailored specifically for material science processes would significantly elevate its usability and efficiency for our industry.

We have a large portfolio of agriculture products and managing its engineering data was difficult. That's when Teamcenter was introduced and observed many of our problems. It has solutions like drawing release, manufacturing BOM release, ECN management, testing reporting, and many more. In my case, we use PLM for NPD (new product development) from scratch to proto development. We go through the workflow process and involve CFT members in the concurrent mfg process.
  • For each part, JT is there for the non-design people, who can see how the actual part looks and measure some limited dimensions that are needed at the mfg level.
  • In our scenario, we use Creo as 3D modeling and Teamcenter as our PLM, through which integration tasks were handled very well.
  • My most favorite thing is it's user-friendly and customizable.
  • In Assembly, JT is not directly viewable. There is some alternate method available, but it’s hard to use.
For design data management and processes, like workflows, ECR-ECN parts revision is most likely well-suited with Teamcenter. Also, you can add a library as a classification for standard parts like bearings, nut bolts, pins, washers, etc.

We use it from engineering, from the full spectrum, from doing the engineering data, integrating with SAP and all the other systems, and allowing it to be doing the change management and feeding through into the mass systems and SAP.
  • Well probably boom, it does very well. And allowing for integration into other products. I love seeing when you're actually integrating it into process simulation and the effect that it has there and preventing it through. So really the digitalization that's possible.
  • It's probably error management in that sort of sense with digging into the detail when the problems do arise, getting into the nitty gritty and when the customers have customized it gets really complicated. So it's indicating where we should not go down the route, the customization because we have always tried to not customize but you do and then it messes it all up or makes the support difficult.
I don't think there's no less appropriate. It's for the engineering, it's perfect for that.

We are a partner, and we explore the different possibilities of Teamcenter. We see all topics from product configurations, structure management, and user rights. We also look at both rich client and active workspace and are also looking into its connection to other products. We are interested in its technical structure and the possibility of managing the process with CI/CD.

for For Manufacturing Process Planning and Validation. Change Management across different BOM structures. We use the Teamceneter Products and tools to accelerate collaboration among Design and Manufacturing needs. The change management solutions helps us to capture function specific changes done in the product throughout its lifecycle. for example, Manufacturing change notice. From designing complex workflows to using Teamcenter integrations with NX and Process Simulate to validate our process structures. In my opinion the small business use cases needs more accessibility for small organisations

Classification, Product data management and workflows, Shopfloor connection NC to Maschine from Teamcenter, and for configuration of Products. We also use the MRL for Tool Magment. We also use Teamcenter to realize full automatic production line. We are using NX CAD integration to configure our products und NX CAM integration to create the NC Files.
  • Good integration between NC CAD and Teamcenter
  • Good integration between NC CAM and Teamcenter
  • Good Tool management an interfaces
  • No documentation and or Training specialize for the API, please fix that
  • No good documentation for BMIDE
  • Online Training wood be nice
Suited well to create or digitalize processes in diverents plan especially the SAP gateways fit perfectly for this challenge. Creating custom program bz using the Teamcenter SOA is very difficult because there is no goog documentation or training but it needs to create custom programs for special cases in the company today

We help people make use of non-Siemens CAD systems with Teamcenter. This helps enlarge the breadth of users that Siemens solutions can support.
  • Define and enforce standards
  • Users can focus on their key value and avoid wasted time
  • Enables cad-agnostic view of data for downstream users
  • Implementation needs to incorporate more user and people change aspects
  • Overwhelming array of functions and lack of clarity of how to make a choice
  • Customer management has unrealistic expectations that are influenced by the need to get a sale.
Teamcenter is appropriate for companies that are large enough to understand the need for the rigor of plm. For really small companies that may not see the value of managing data or do not have the needed infrastructure it may not be worth it. Large companies need to appreciate the challenge of modernizing their processes and expectations to move to a next generation way of working.

Teamcenter at Best

The primary business problem that Teamcenter addresses is the complexity of managing product-related information and processes. Throughout the lifecycle of a product, from concept development to retirement, there is a vast amount of data generated and multiple stakeholders involved. Teamcenter helps us to streamline and centralize this information, providing a single source of truth for product-related data. Our main scope is collaboration and Workflow Management where Teamcenter enables effective collaboration among cross-functional teams, including design engineers, manufacturing teams and even suppliers. We are using the given tools for managing and automating workflows, facilitating information sharing, and ensuring everyone is working with the latest information.

Well suited:
- Engineering: Teamcenter helps manage complex engineering processes, such as product design, simulation, analysis, and validation. It provides tools for managing engineering changes, tracking progress, and ensuring that designs comply with standards and regulations.

Not well suited:
- As Teamcenter is very flexible it is hard to find scenarios that cannot be covered by it.

Teamcenter is used for managing Design, Part, Document, BoM, BoP, workflow, etc. The ever-growing and evolving landscape of Siemens Xcelerator portfolio helps to digitize the process and shall make the digital twin a reality in the near future. The partnership that Siemens has been establishing with other solution providers such as SAP, Microsoft, IBM, etc, shall also help in addressing use cases in various departments.

We use Teamcenter in almost all areas of the company, from design to manufacturing and assembly. We also have different integration between Teamcenter, SAP, and the MES system. For design and manufacturing, we use NX for the design.
  • The interface between TC and SAP.
  • NX integration.
  • Structure management.
  • Process design and execution.
  • Classification module.
  • Log administration.
  • Audit records for users assigned to projects.
It is well suited when talking about NX integration, bill of material, and routing creations. It is also great for bridging information to SAP and the MES system. We have some problems regarding the configuration of our products and tracking the modifications.

We use Teamcenter for managing the lifecycle of CAD/CAM data and technical documentation. And feeding ERP.
  • Workflows are easy to design and use.
  • Integration with NX works well.
  • Active workspace UI is easy to use.
  • The integrations with ERP require a custom solution, or the Siemens solution is too expensive.
  • Documentation of existing knowledge base and new features is not easy to find. It should be better organized and easily searchable.
  • Support of a product should be longer than usual 1 year as upgrading takes a lot of effort.
Teamcenter is well suited for advanced users and CAD/CAM users. But the new users should be able to onboard more easily.

  • Interface to Catia.

Basically, it is used for CAD data Management only. Teamcenter is a strong tool for managing the complete Life cycle of products. Maybe a smaller tool would be sufficient for us.

I'm responsible for the PLM environments infrastructure. We prepare servers, investigate new possibilities, and we implement new integrations. We are responsible for Teamcenter running securely and with good performance. We also create new TC environments, and we are checking new functionalities, for example, cloud and SAP integrations.
  • Integrate with other applications.
  • Revision management for CAD data.
  • A lot of functions and possibilities.
  • Dispatcher monitoring with a dashboard.
  • Support for 64-bit office for PDF converting.
  • Upgrade/change Teamcenter without downtime.
It's a good application overall for managing the PLM process and it has a lot of integrations to other applications. You can manage for example the CAD data, change process, and manufacturing.
